Elegance Consortium Lanka (Pvt) Ltd is a traditional family venture that evolves around creating elegant, hand-crafted jewelry hailing from 3 generations of craftsmanship, spanning over five decades. We aim at maintaining the traditional look and feel of its creations, whilst embodying a fringe of modern artistry that provides a unique blend to in its wide portfolio. Pioneering on customized traditional Kandyan and ornamental jewelry we have expanded to new horizons of creating the new and innovative merchandise that is churned utilizing traditional skills of hand craftsman. Winning the prestigious Shilpa Abhimani Presidential award for 3 consecutive years (2004 - 2007), was the impetus for the global recognition Elegance Consortium has since received and henceforth commenced export operations too. This is the paradigm we thrive in at present given the niche global segment, who demand quality and unique innovation.

OUR HISTORY

In 1936 Godage Puuhamy, a skilled gold smith initially set up a cottage that developed jewelry linking to the Kandyan Kingdom. The industry thus specialized in creating what was classified as hand crafted Kandyan jewellery. Over the years, whilst promoting the use of traditional jewellery, he trained and developed family members to master the craft of this inherent industry. Soon this craft was sought after and became part of the Kandyan attire for key functions amongst professional and the elite group in society, especially at occasions that related to those of Kandyan origin, like traditional weddings that required the Bridal retinue and close family to be draped in attire related to the kingdom. In February 2000, a 3rd generation family member, Amal Arandara, established Elegance House of Bridal Jewelry (Pvt) Ltd with a vision to diversify the product portfolio utilizing the traditional skills to develop artifacts, furniture and ornaments in Gold, Silver and Brass and ventured to customize his creations, thereby creating a niche market. Amalʼs creativity and long-term vision provided the opportunity to explore overseas markets, which today creates and array of products including wall ornaments, table decorations artifacts and jewelry, which are exclusively churned out in Gold, Silver, Brass and wood.

CEO's Story

Amal Arandara, is considered an imaginative futuristic entrepreneur, who, by profession is a jeweler and manufacturer of related value added products. He engages personally, to awaken the minds of individuals whilst ustomizing their desires into a blend of modern art with tradition and culture. A Mastermind in creating personalized master pieces. His innovative mind has helped him to go beyond the realms of his predecessors and develop unique products, maintaining the specialty of the family trade relating to high value Gold, Silver, Brass and Wood based artifacts, jewelry, furniture, table decorations and wall ornaments. His ʻeye for detailʼ is a phenomenal asset that the business utilizes to ensure the hand- crafted creations are meticulous. Amal is the eldest in a family of two and is the 3rd generation successor to a family business spanning 5 decades. He is a graduate from the University of Moratuwa, holding a BSC Honours In Textile Engineering, Textile Diploma from Brandix College Ratmalana and has completed the Chartered Institute of Marketing UK Certificate level. As the CEO of Elegance Consortium Lanka (Pvt) Ltd., since 2004, he has been the driving force that has brought about changen in the strategic direction of the company, fructifying innovation, diversification and international business expansion.
